If they make an 800 I hope it would be a Race/cruiser type bike.

I meant to say sports tourer like the ZZR but with all the power of a super sports. Would like just a little more of an upright seating position.

its not even real vtec :P
hes asking for a sports tourer in the 800cc region...now they didnt sell many , but they do make EXACTLY what he asked for...so with the amount honda sold..why would kawasaki (a smaller manufacturer) build sumthin that no1 wants??

they wouldnt...

133 in the first half of this year, according to the official sales figures.

Now, take into account that, for most of the year, Honda have been discounting the VTR1000 and the Blackbird so that both have been cheaper than the VFR... it's borderline surprising that they've sold any.

Well, how many people buy big-bore metric cruisers, yet Kawasaki still went to the trouble of building the Vulcan 2000, the Mean Streak, the VN1600...

Suzuki sell enough GSX-R750s to prove that people *want* 750 sportsbikes.

As for making a sports-tourer to compete with the VFR, Kawasaki already have the bike to do it; the ZX9. Drop the seat a little, make the screen a little higher, make the back of the tank a little narrower, give the pillion a bit more legroom, slot in the Z1000 motor, and, presto, the world's most accomplished sports-tourer with next to no development costs.

Just by the virtue of its fully-adjustable suspension and wet weight in the 210kg range, the ZX9 leaves the existing sports-tourers for dead even before its 20-30hp power advantage is factored in.

If they had half a brain, they'd launch the ZZ-R1000 tomorrow.

its pretty safe to say the 9 does everything better than the vfr8 does, cept maybe a tiny bit of comfort. 900 isnt much more than 800, see which your arse prefers

i KNOW what i'd prefer when i get to the twisties.

the recent trip to the island one again proved several things about the zx9. its comfy enough in the boring sections, its fast enough in the fast sections, its nimble enough in the tight stuff and its easy to ride on dirt.

best do everything bike in the world - nuff said.
