If Nickey Hayden wins the championship they should buy him.
Imagine a Kawasaki going around with a No. 1 plate???

Perhaps they could look OUTSIDE the GP circles...

the AMA, Aussie, italian, french, portugese, japanese superbikes.... There are loads of talented bike riders out there..... a 250GP bike has about as much in common with the big class as the superbike bikes do..... Neither guarantee a winner.... How about Nicky Haydens brother.... He seems like a kickass rider.... might even win us one at Laguna Seka... and will have a brother to compete with... Tommy Hayden im talking about by the way...

I believe Tommy is currently the AMA supersport champion (riding a kawasaki)...

He already has a bunch of sponsors that he can bring to the team too... which always helps.... (joe rocket, troy lee, squirly, and more)...

he's signed with suzuki for ama superbikes next year.

and i think you'll find the amount of superbike riders who get called up for GP as opposed to 250 riders will will quite small.

nicky has taken a fiar while to get up to speed as has hopper & edwards. bayliss did some good stuff but wasnt as successfull as he would have wanted and hodgson - well lets not say too much at all shall we. vermulen seems to have broken the mold a little but i still think that 125 & 250gp's asap is the way to go.

just look at most of the young guys comming thru 250's at the moment, wont be long before you see them in moto gp

Stick Alex de Angelis on the Kwakka ... farken quick skillful rider, got balls, and more experience than he probably should have given he hasn't won a race. Would be cheap, and effective.

preffered options would be Westy (at least the bike wont be 3 yrs old like his current one..), then : olivier jacque, locatelli and THEN if we cant get any of them...keep de puniet

question: why not throw josh brookes' leg over one? he is certainly not afraid to find the limits on a machine... crashed his kwaka superbike first time out... he's got balls!!

i think experience has shown superbike and ex-superbike riders don't usually make the transition to GP bikes that well, chris vermuelen and mick doohan being the few exceptions to this rule...

looking at the current crop of younger riders, the best ones are the ones that have competed in the 125s and 250s, ie. stoner, pedrosa, melandri, elias etc. while the guys that have come over from superbikes ie. bayliss, xaus, edwards, hodgson have all struggled to come to terms with motoGP setup.

de puniet's not doing too badly, he isn't on the most competitive bike in the paddock (nakano probably gives the zxrr more credit than it deserves) and he's still very much a newbie.

ant west would probably be a good choice as far as rider skill and experience is concerned but unfortunately lack of sponsorship will continue to hamper his efforts i think.

Has Brookes even scored championship points yet?

Don't mean to bag him, hes an awesome rider and I'm glad he's on a green bike. But come on, let's be realistic here.

LOL....

yeah, he has scored 1 point.

he is still learning circuits and a new bike however....

and i am not a massive fan of his or anything, but i just think he is an excellent rider, and having watched him race, i just think he is without fear. i really believe he could do well. honda Oz would snatch him back if they could i'm sure...besides, i would love to be cheering an aussie on a green bike anyday of the week
