Would have chosen Reefton spur if it wasn't for the dirt they put on it... my vote goes to Sth gippsland for the beautiful sorrounding and lack of race marshall err.. patrol

Why no black spur? Getting a run through there with no traffic is just bliss - Like a week on Thursday perhaps????

I'm with Roo on this one, we are spoiled for choice in SE Qld!
I would love to get back and to the Oxley again, as well as all the fun roads on the way - Nymboida, Waterfall Way, Gwydir, etc.
I reckon that my absolute favourite local roads would have to be the Mt Lindsay H'way between Rathdowney & Woodenbong, the Bruxner east of Tenterfield, Nerang-Murwillumbah Rd, and the roads around Kenilworth.
I really also want to get down to Thunderbolts & Buckets, as well as the good riding roads around Sydney, through the Snowies, GOR and surrounds, etc.

I'd have to pick Tawonga Gap Bright/Mt Beauty, a favourite weekend destination, if I was choosing a local run, I would have to go with the run from Noojee to Kurumburra via Drouin and Poowong.
Or Whitfield, or maybe Boneo Rd and Arthurs Seat on a sunny afternoon, I guess it would depend on the length of the leave app and if the handbrake knows I've snuck out.

I am surprised that so many have voted for the Oxley?? Don't get me wrong, it's a top bit of road which was huge fun ridden with a mate who I can't keep up with
! But it wasn't so good that I would rate it above a lot of other good roads in Oz. ??????? The Oxley to me is a bit like Reefton. It's tight and challenging, but it doesn't have the wow factor of roads like Elliots, Omeo/Alpine way etc

Not many people know of these roads, so I left them off the list! Some of the KSRC'ns doing the snowies-supers run will get to sample some of these roads next weeknobby wrote:I'd have to pick Tawonga Gap Bright/Mt Beauty, a favourite weekend destination, if I was choosing a local run, I would have to go with the run from Noojee to Kurumburra via Drouin and Poowong.

Last year on the way back from the GP I went through Omeo, Bright, Mt Hotham, Corryong, Kanchoban and to Thredbo. That was the best days ride I have ever done. I think the road from Kancohban to Thredbo was possibly the pick of that ride.
I am also a huge fan of Brown Mountain but the road does not last long engough.
Old Pacific Hwy is now stuffed with 60 Km road speeds.
Southern Highlands is always fun.
So to is the ride from Batemans Bay to Canberra through Braidwood.
