Hey, I copped it for the full twelve months and I reckon I have been easy on him so far. I've got a few more months to go though, and comments like yours will only further fuel my desire to take the piss! I wonder if he'll be able to keep up and keep it on the black stuff at hte same time this year???

Just come to Canberra Ponti, I'll be racing the ACT BMX champs - there's sure to be some decent jumps there. Maybe you could challenge yourself and go for a double?

So would you use the Conti as a track tyre as apposed to the M3. Because my M3s only have one more track day and I was considering the Conti Sport Attack.

I'm running the Race Attacks on my '07 gumby, have done for about 3500klm now and 2 track days on them at QR.
Since there is SFA grooves/tread in the centreline profile of the tyre it's hard to tell actually how much the centre has worn. Constable Plod had me pulled over the other week and commented on how 'worn' they looked, well after a little re-education about my particular choice of tyre he seemed to accept that explanation (but he didn't excuse the $250 fine for the 'other' offence..)
The edges are nicely balled up, and i've had no reason to doubt them at QR, but i am in the red group.
I'll be needing a rear around 5000klm i think, but the front has plenty of grip/tread left, i also got mine from SC on the Gold Coast although i had to make do with a 190/50 at the time.
I try to avoid wet weather rides but i have been caught a few times, nothing to report as i take it very easy.
I'll run with another rear, by the time that's gone i'll be up for another front anyway so i'll need another complete set of tyres by about the 17000klm mark on the odometer.
I like to try different tyres so i'll probably change to something else by then, but so far i've no reason to fault them.

I have about 3500k's on them now and at a guess, there is maybe another 1000k's left in the rear, but the front has plenty of life. If I fitted another rear, they most likely would be replaced together next time.

In all honesty, I am yet to find a tyre which has really given me rear tyre mileage that is that much better than the Metzler Racetech's. From memory, I coaxed 7-8k from fronts and 4.5-5k on the rears!! I think I will just go back to K2 Racetech's as the additional grip for gained for the small life penalty appears to be worth it. Or, I might go the other way and stay with a sport tyre on the front and stick a touring tyre on the rear and se how much fun that brings!!!
