So after all that, I really wished I could of come back with some feedback, but unfortunately, a couple laps into the first session, I decided i'd like to go for a trip into the kitty litter on siberia....

I am came off without a scratch thanx to my leathers, and the bike came off excellent thanx to the crash pretectors (buy R&G people), and definitely ridable again. However, the gear lever was bent in a way that I couldnt fit my foot under it to change up gears, so the only option was to try and bend it back. Now, all of you may know this, but alloy dont bend... However, this was the only thing that was going to get me back on the track. As we all knew it was going to snap off with the slightest bit of force, we were not surprised that it did snap off, thus ending my day very early...



So, looks like I will have to get back to you guys in the new year, as im heading back to the island on the 4th of Jan...

Oh dear! Not good mate! Cold tyres hey! Chaulk it up to experience and get back out there.

What pressure did you have in those tyres??? They should have been warm enough for it by lap 2??

Yeh a combination of cold tyres, and i think track temp wasnt that high either...

I had 30psi running in both tyres....

Bugger dude, that sux. At least you're OK and the bike's not too bad. A set of vortex rearsets from Starclcye (http://www.starcycle.com) will be about $450 delivered, look great and give you more flexibility in terms of peg positioning

If it was bottoming out would you feel like a knock at the end of travel? arrr so many questions

AFAIK, there are bumpstops that soften the bottoming out (compared to metal on metal). If your oil level is too high you can have bottoming out effects before running out of travel. I found this out when I forgot to compress the forks when changing fork oil. The thought that I had put in heaps of oil did cross my mind but I didn't connect the dots.
When the GPX was bottoming out under braking it resulted in the front wheel and the bike bouncing along the road quite harshly.
