btw - for what its worth, some tyres (Dunlops come to mind) are built around a 'triangular' profile right from the start. These ones offer excellent side-grip, but do tend to upset handling a bit in a straight line.....as you ride along the pointy bit....... 8)

Thanks for the serious answers too, guys. My front is rooted, making the handling total shite. I now need to work on the lad to up the budget so I can get another set of the corsas, instead of going back to BT014s

Softer initial resistances will see earlier or more scalloping, than a fork which has more initial tension - so, spring rate; low-speed bump damping and tyre pressure will all influence things duly... this said, a few years back for no good reason, other than geometry on the Honda being quite extreme, i actually wore out the front tyre slightly before the rear - that were on Pirelli Diablos if that helps.... (shocking!)
