ZXR750 used the basic (then new Generation) GPX engine
but different frame panels etc..obviously
ZX7r got an updated (bigger bore shorter stroke) engine
from the ZXR and a styling update...

Fair enough but there is a more constructive way things can be put across. I think it is a given that you must have at least 500 posts before you can alienate someone

The L2 is the middle year, 1994 of the L-model ZXR750, which, as you say, is the one with the proper ram-air. L1 was the 1993, L3 the 1995. There was nothing but cosmetic differences among them.

It was a general expression of puzzlement... a stock exhaust with a loud muffler always looks_way_different to a full system. Different enough for it to be worthy of comment when someone, anyone, has to go so far as to start taking their bike to bits before they realise it has one.

Having just had upwards of 50 wreckers give me the over-the-phone equivalent of a blank look when I called to ask if they had any C-model ZX9 parts, I'm having a touchy week when it comes to Kwaka model designations.

You might have a problem with that on my bike...but then i've got a bit of a bastardised setup. Muzzy headers, a link pipe with a mounting flange similar to standard and a Yoshi end can...does thte job tho.
