changing rear brake pads for zxr250

Hey guys so chain cleaner would still do a good job yeah? Does is still clean it of the fairings or i shall use other relevant solvents?

How often must the chain be replaced? My bike got a service like 200k's ago, with new chain, front pads,oils and sparks.

So maybe end of the year i change it?

righto haha lucky i only use metho to get rid of stubborn bits a shit will use kero form now on hehe
depends on you riding conditions,,,,,, i usually use the markings on the swingarm near the adjustments there a guide on how stretched the chain is when it gets towards to back change the chain

Best stuff for cleaning chain loooouuuub / tar etc off fairings / swingarms / huggers and even your draggin jeans before you chuck em in the wash is either WD40 or White spirit.

I get the White spirit in the 5lt bottles at bunnings for bugger all and use it for cleaning dirt bike filters / rear wheels / my undertail ... everything!!

Considering the 10 is BLACK (let's not be BIKIST now!!) and shows every scratch and blemish before it actually happens I've never had a problem .

Ok guys i got a picture of the brake set up, just want to be sure which ones i should take out.

Fadz can you see some bolts that screw th caliper to the swingarm there the bolts you need to remove, They are usaully a allen key head.

1. Remove the 2 bolts and you should be able to take the caliper off the disc make sure you dont push on the rear brake lever as you need to get a flat head screw driver and spread the origanal pads apart till they are fully open to the max.

2.Remove the screws that hold the pads in and take out the pads, Put new pads in and and screw back the screws that hold the pad in.

3. Now slide the caliper back into position and re-bolt it after that has been done pump your rear brake lever till it harden back up.

And you should be ready to rock and roll

That stainless steel shim towards the rear of the caliper should not be touching the caliper slide pin boot. Normally a bit of gentle re shaping with a pair of needle nose pliers is enough though.

As for TLC .... A trip down to your local wash n go for a good degrease and wash will bring her up a treat for starters

(the only dirty bikes I like working on have a pulse LOL)
