I should be cutting up a few conduit pieces this weekend whilst adjusting the forks of the 10.
Anyone who wants some just let me know before Friday arvo. I can drop it round if I'm in the area
*you lazy bastages! haha*

FARK! Well the conduit piece was too small in diameter. Was going to buy but a mate had some at grey conduit at home which looked like the same size as the ones Bunnings. I'lll take the housing down and get the correct size.

the conduit size is smaller than the housing size - it has to be, as it relies only on friction to keep it secured....
the 'C'-shaped piece has to 'snap' over the stock housing, so it does have a smaller diameter .....I'll check the orange conduit I used and get the exact diameter ...

I made one of these on Sunday for Cath's tracky and I'm pretty happy with the result. I got a "joiner" piece of conduit for $1.30 which should be enough material to make about 4 of these. Thanks Gos.

no worries mate - a joiner piece is ideal, good thinking. The diameter is about 18-20mm or thereabouts ?

FARK
I finally source the right diameter conduit, bought two of the joiner piece. I dont have a bloody sharp chisel to wack the two tabs out yet. Doing a "how to" and is turning out to be more of a how not to haha
Action keeps sticking. Will have to go to bunnings to get a chisel.
DAMN YOU late night!

Dremel is cheap in bunnings and does the job nice and quick

I thought as much so I use the dremel! I ended up with a polished look.
Thats right... laugh away... go on...
What extention piece did you guys use? Is there a specific attachment that makes it piss easy to remove metal?

did mine last week with Dave's dremel. I think it was the little diamond cut bit. Takes a while though

a Dremel will do the job, as long as you use the right cutting tip. I reckon setting it all up is a pain in the arse, when a short sharp blow with a 5mm-wide fine chisel will do the same job in about .5 seconds !

.....but thats just me. I am an impatient prick .

Well seeing as though I have very little patience (and procrastinate a whole heap) I chose the chisel option
Sorry to dig up an old thread
Do you need to place a little glue on throttle sleeve or its fine to leave clipped on?
You sure do need to loosen the throttle cable play...

If you cut a small v into each end of the tube it will fit neatly into the holes in each end of the throttle area your fitting it to, so glue shouldn' t be neceassary.
If its a bit loose, I'd glue it...
And yep, I had to remove the adjuster nut on my cables to get an extra couple of mm, and its still pretty tight..

for some reason the Crims seem to be a bit tighter than the Barges with this mod ??
plus its a right pain in the arse to get to one of the adjusters on the Crim as it is tucked up under the f'n tank !!
all worth it in the end though....
