The 190 wont fit your rear unfortunetely. But I have 3 Bt002 hard rears, so I think I can spare one for $70 or so. If you don't mind mixing brands that is. They've seen one trackday (not me). On the metzellers, I've heard they last a while but I'm using M1s and looks like I'll only get 6000-7000 out of them. Which is not low I suppose, But I did expect a little more from the harder compound. I'm probably just hard on them.

I have fitted 190 slicks on my cbr 600rr... I'm pretty sure you can fit them on but they just don't tip in as quick because of the profile

Ok i have had 5 sets of M3s and 2 sets of roadsmarts rear life for m3 got down to 6,000 ks front about 8,000.roadsmarts rear life 8,500 funny the front i get about 6,000 out of as the sides are way down to the markers by then.Take into account most of my riding is done in the twisties. In the wet the roadsmarts are a bet better and soak up the bumps a bit better than the M3s.Take into account that the roadsmarts do not have the classic sqirm factor that all other dunlops i have had did which is why i was hesitant at first but took martis feed back and guess what he was right.I dont think the pilot roads are as sticky as the above mentioned tyres but you will get more ks out of them.It half and half, the m3s or roadsmarts. The most i ever got out of pilot powers was 5,000 ks.Down this way a set or roadsmarts is $435, M3s $450

Agree with the "squirm factor " comment - they do not do anything unpredictable.

I'll probably get flamed for this, but IMO M3s suck. I reckon Hoffy's on the money with the $400 PPs.

had thought about pilot power 2CTs ($584 is out of price range tho) and turns out they have soft and supersoft compounds...
can anyshed some light on how much the road 2ct's cost???
Despite Phils rave reviews, I wouldn't put another set of M3's on my bike. They don't have the edge grip of the PR2 or the Roadsmarts and they wear very quickly in comparison.
I get the PR2's in Vic for about $480-490 Fitted without haggling. The PR2's are as good a tyre as the roadsmarts in grip terms, but the Roadsmarts have more feel and the PR2's have better life. The PR2 front probably steers a little sharper than the Roadsmart, but the roadsmart has better bump absorption. I get 10k out of a rear PR2 but only about 7k out of a rear Roadsmart.
as a track tyre, neither are ideal. Both will start to get greasy after 4-5 hard laps. But if you are doing 2 mins around the creek, it shouldn't tax either one.

thanks marty...
i know neither tyre is ideal, given i want them to last at least 6-7k given the commuting so i am looking for the best compromise...
if i do go down the pilot power route, which i might given the price, how long might i get out of em?? i understand everyone is different but i dont wanna get only 4-5k out of em...
thanks for the input everyone
