I have run a few sets of roadsmarts and they have yet to disapoint me.The only thing is i wear out the front before the rear.Front i get about 6,000 ks and the rear about 8000.But since my favorite roads have not been available for fanging the rear has 9500 and probably another 5-700 left in it and the front will probably last 7500ks ,and Mike was right they are dual compound ;) Previously M3s were my tyre of choice but in the end i was only getting 5-5000 ks out of them and went searhing for simular grip but with more ks.The other thing is the roadsmarts are great in the wet

I have just replaced the rear on mine with another BT016, and I must say, I was impressed even with the OEM tyre. The first one lasted 12400k's (not a typo  ) including the MotoGP run which for me was about a 5500k round trip (via Adelaide). Like most wannabes, most of my riding is the daily commute to work, with the occasional blast up Glorious. I (still :x ) haven't had the pleasure of a track day yet, so i can't vouch for how the tyre goes in a controlled environment, but I cannot fault it for the type of riding i have done in the past 6 months. The biggest prob i had with it was the massive flat spot in the centre after the trip to The Island. It set me back $319, however I had to go down a profile, to a 50 instead of 55, because apparently the 55 is hard to get at the moment. You may not have that prob as the 6 has a smaller tyre. Also Bridgestone have just increased the price of the BT016 by quite a bit, 190/55 17 was about $325, now around $375. My OEM front still has 1 or 2 k's left in it with no probs there either.

My 2c

I usually achieve about 4-4500klms out of a rear Pilot Power. I have though in the last 5 or more sets of tyres run the new Pilot Road II. this has the edge of a pilot power, with the centres of pilot roads. In comparison to the PP, I get 9-10k out of a rear PR2! So, if you are happy already with the grip and feel of the Pilot Power, the Pilot Road II might be worth consideration. Same side grip as a PP, more life! :kuda:

As an aside, I can't get anywhere near the mileage with equivelent grip with M3's, Pirelli's, Dunlops or the bridgerocks (although I am yet to try an 016!).

dunno mate. I don't have anything to benchmark them against apart from the dunlops on the 250  . from what i have experienced with them, they are a good tyre, they haven't let me down (yet :) ) as for price, i went with the 50 profile this time but its the same tyre, so i don't know how they can justify such a huge gap i price for an extra profile height. might have something to do with it being standard on the ZX10, might just be greed.

the RRP for 016's 190/55/17 is $379 rear $229 front now. doesnt mean that you need to pay that for them though. I get looked after with $500 a set but $550 for a walk in purchase wouldnt be unreasonable.
