Frank, check out Optus Fusion deals, you get home phone, internet, and mobile restricted for $99 a month or unlimited for $129 a month and mobile reception is pretty good..... so i was told.... I'm gunna look at it when my current vodafone $49 contract runs out.......

I ended up moving to virgin. Perhaps they have decent data plans for business ? Not that I've ever looked.

i was told Optarse bought Virgin ??? dont know if its true

i wanted to get away from Optarse but they had best deal on 32 gig iphone only problem is they havnt rung to confirm order yet which they say they do within 24 hrs..... its now over 2 weeks and when i sent a email which they say they respond to within 3 days i still have no reply after 5

There all Fucked !!!!!!! but one thing for certain is i will never use Telstra for anything ever again!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am with Optus... If it wasn't for the fact that they were the cheapest when I got my iPhone I would never have gone back to them... Outside of Sydney the reception from Optus is crap, there customer service is worse there billing department have no idea what the heck the are doing. If I had the money I would be going with Telstra just purely because there network is capable. When the iPhone first got released the Optus network fell apart, to the point that you could not get any reception any where in Sydney, the data plans were receiving approximately 3kbs data... even when you were physically in site of the tower on top of Optus's building in North Sydney.

I will never go near telstra again.

after having them change my contract without my consent, then trying to change me a cancellation fee after the end of the original contract, it took 3 hours on the phone, and 6 complaints to get them to waive the fee for the cancellation of a contract that had ended (they wanted $300 and I was in the 26th month of a 24 month contract)

Im now with vodafone, coverage is so so, and data useage is a little slow during the day, but after 6pm it speeds up.

Heard today that Optus has jumped into bed with Woolworths.... very cheap calls, 15 cent text msg, etc, but which ever way you go READ THE FINEPRINT

isnt it like that with anything involving postentially huge costs?

The plan I was looking at with Optus involved unlimited call, text & MMS as well as 2gig of data. But main concern still revolves around how good the actual service is and how good the data rates are.

So far it's still all 50/50 and better the devil you know than the one you don't.

thats what my mum does. her /her partner's mobile is pretty much only switched on when they take a road trip. And is mostly off otherwise. I have been told off for calling them on the mobile more than once.

I understand many peoples angst against telcos but the fact is, not using a particular carrier doesn't affect them at all and most likely the replacement carrier you choose pays the old one to use part of their network so you're funding them anyway.

They are all interested in 2 things, the number of subscribers they can claim to have and how much profit they are making, any value offered to the consumer by them while trying to maximise the above two numbers is purely conincidental.

Your best bet is just to choose the one who offers the best deal to suit your needs, whether that's coverage area, data volume or call time and move when a better deal is offered elsewhere.
