I ride every day with Steel Blue steelcaps. Airsoles- really comfy. They don't cause me any problems except you need to keep them off the exhausts. I burn them every time I ride a GN250.

I would challenge the Blundstone are the best - Steel Blue are streets ahead.....if you buy the Hi-PA boots, they have a high polymer cap that is still rated as a safety boot, but the cap is not steel. The other benefit, they don't set off metal detectors!!

Very comfortable, retail for aound high hundred dollars but well worth the outlay.

Never had a drama riding in Steel Caps

On the other note, I find Steel Blue the most comfortable I've ever worn, but Blundstone are far more durable (air soles don't last me more than 6 months)

My 2c
Been commuting /Riding for ova 20 years to work and back and never had a problem with steel caped boots.
If you position them incorrectly the only issue you will have is a wear hole at the back of the steel cap as it slips forward when shifting( this only happens after the expected life of the boot is almost beyond the use by date. In other words worn out )
As for loosin toes if you crash its quite simple realy DONT CRASH. :D :D :D :D
PMLNFOF. By the way CAT boots arnt that bad either, But will cost upwards of $250 and i get 12-18 mpnths out of mine.
