So in all seriousness, I ride the bike for business... it is my office, it does 1000 km days as well as Trackdays, and the few blokes that know me in here will attest to how I ride it. I do not do this so that others will be impressed, I do it because I can and need to justify it to no-one but myself. There are many things I have done to the bike that makes it a weapon already and when I get the chance to do a trackday, there are not many on 10's that can keep up when I am in the mood. But I am not as young as I once was, so I play with things... if I could find a ZX10R front end at the right price, then we would be having that discussion... and then when I do the Muzzy 998 Kit, we will have that one. Until then, I would just love for any advice from someone who may or may not have done this... so far I have learnt that there is no preload adjustment on the 7 forks... so thank you all for that.

As for what I said...it still stands! It's backed up by Phil, who may know a thing or two about ZX9's, riding and suspension. The E model forks are feckin good kit and have pretty good internals for a proddy bike. If your suspension guy is any good he will tell you so. My suspension guy did my forks and reckons the internals were PFG. And after he weaved his magic on them they were even better. As you say yourself, ask a few in here who went on a few rides with that 9. It handled great.

However, you sound like you want good suspension and the look. With that in mind, why not take the next leap in technology and look for a set of forks from a crashed 09 ZX6 or GSXR1K. They have the new Big Piston Fork (BPF), which from all reports is really, really nice stuff.

They have, Kawasaki have tried them and they have also tried the Ohlins cartidge kits as well.

Knowing Phil Tainton he would have Ohlins in Josh's bike

I know Buckets and know him well, his 9 already has uprated internals (and an Ohlins rear)and the difference is remarkable to the standard (old) shit. He has been told that these internals would fit the 7 forks. He wanted a less flexible fork and USD seemed the smart simple move.
He asked for advice and got crap, no wonder I dont waste my time here anymore.
Apart from Strika I doubt ANY of you cunts would see where he went.
And since fucken when dont 7 forks have a preload adjuster you fucken tool ?

Hmmm, now seeing as I have posted in this thread, I'm guessing you are referrring to me...

As far as offering advice / opinion, I believe I did, giving fork diameters and my thoughts on the 9 forks.
As far as not knowing what I'm talking about, I believe I did alright on my 98 zx9r. If any of you can do 1.41 at EC on yours, I would be suitably impressed (if this is how knowledge is supposedly judged.? )
and the adjuster on the 96 to 2002 zx7r forks is actually a ride height adjuster, not a preload adjuster. Not sure why Kawasaki went this way for these forks, but it can be converted to a preload adjuster with a bit of work or $. I had one for 7 years and read a lot about them...

So let me get this correct, we tried to help out so you call us all cunts . Then you say only Marty could keep up with Buckets .

I have no idea how good/bad/indifferrent he can ride and quite honestly I dont care. I tried to help out a fellow 9 rider and then you come outta left field, hang shite on those that tried to help and start carrying like a pork chop.

The ring things on top of the forks don't compress the spring on a standard ZX7R ( P model )they adjust ride hight.
Spring preload is only adjustable on the ZX7RR ( N model )
