Re: Raising the seat on a ZX9
Pics of the higher seat. The brackets at the front and back of the seat hold it in place and it just sits on the other rails. I will be attaching the bits on the sub frame with more than just tape too.
It's a bit ugly, but it gets the job done cheaply and will increase the enjoyment of riding it as I should be a lot more comfortable.
See you at the track SCAGS!

Rob you could possibly use large hose clamps to hold on the tube, just shape them to fit the square section

Means I can keep the rear sets and not have any clearance issues.hoffy wrote:fark me, thats interesting yet effective !

Re: Raising the seat on a ZX9
Had thought of doing that. I just need to find some decent quality ones as the supercrap ones strip the thread too easy.robracer wrote:Rob you could possibly use large hose clamps to hold on the tube, just shape them to fit the square section

Re: Raising the seat on a ZX9
Put the seat back where it belongs and get the seat recovered with 20mm foam........ comfier on your arse too
I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.

Re: Raising the seat on a ZX9
Tested it at EC last Sunday and it has been a great success!
I am so much more comfortable on the bike, the seat is as solid as it was in the original position and if you didn't look for it you hardly notice the difference in aesthetics.
Hoffy was so impressed he wants to do the same to his.
