Have had my Wilbers on for about 1000k,s so far.
I bought the classic Black & Silver as oppossed to the more colorful option.
They seem to have taken a lot of flex out of the bike when cornering & it definetly grips the road better on our local goat tracks.
They are however built a little hard for the local roads, excellant on good roads, but a little rough on our (Lack of) quality roads.
I know the locals who venture down to the island tell stories of these awesome roads thru NSW & Vic, well we don't get anything like that up here.
So far I am happy with them & I believe they will really shine when I load up the gearsack, swag etc to go to rally's.

They are still almost double the price of the Gazi shocks though. If i was chasing .05 of a second at the Island, I might be fleshing out the additional coin to get the really top end stuff, Ohlins, WP etc., but for the Rex, It's just overkill. I really need to be conservative with the mods on the Rex, as if it gets any faster, NONE of the sportsbike riders will want to come along for a ride anymore!!!

Fitted mine. Took 20 minutes including set up. Tested it on the hills this morning on the 150 klm short loop which i ride regularly. I know every bump and pothole on this section and how the bike usually reacts. So it would highlight any differences instantly.
I read the set up instructions, then proceeded to set it up how i normally would. In the end, my settings were only a couple of clicks away from Paul's suggestions.
Pre load - 7 rings or approx 1/3
Comp 1 more than than Paul suggested
Rebound 2 more than Paul suggested.
Riding out from home the first thing i noticed was the lack of bumps. While the spring is firmer than stock, it is also compliant. Both the compression and rebound circuits worked very well, keeping everything tidy even on some turns which normally had the rear end flapping about like a landed fish.
The bike never bottomed even over some large sharp hits at speed. The best thing for me though was the way it reacted to large doses of throttle while cranked on it's side. The rear would previously collapse, making it run wide off the turn. Now, i can feed as much in as the tyre will handle, without it squatting and making it run wide. The other difference has also been in the amount of side grip available. With the stockers, it was a simple matter of gassing it while leant over and applying the throttle a bit and it would spin up. Now, it just grips and drives.
Drive off turns is nice, with it handling corner forces, bumps and throttle without any fuss. Also the additional 4mm shock length has the steering head angle shortened a touch, making it turn even quicker than before. It's not too aggressive though, as it still holds a nice tight line at full lean and hasn't caused any stability issues.
What it has done though, is highlighted how shit the standard forks are.

Took the Rex & the Gazis for a run today over Mt Glorious & around the dams.
what can i say i was blown away at the difference the Gazis made to the rear end.
Best money i ever spent.
Just need to get the forks done.
I reckon i have the STD fork set as good as i can get it,but the Gazis showed me i need to do some more work with the forks

What you have both found after fitting the Gazi's is exactly what i experienced... The forks are shown up straight away as way underdone.
