just a quick update, after 1 month, so far I have just managed to go and have a look at one (yesterday) and they do look pretty good in the flesh. A little bulky round the radiator cowlings but nothing about them I didn't like, had a quick sit and seemed pretty comfy so next step is to organise a test ride with Di and get her verdict on the pillion accomodation, as with most bikes with a sports(ish) slant the pillion seat and pegs look pretty high, so we'll see.

They seem to be selling pretty well by all accounts and reviews are still positive.

I just saw one ride past on the street, i must say looks too small. I'd have one but prefer a ZX10. ( I'd prefer anything to my yammy but at lest I got a bike I spose)

Basically a fair'd z1000, far less aggressive riding position than a zx10r, and hopefully a nice replacement for my zrx.

There is NO replacement for the ZRX - until the ZRX1400R arrives.......now, I think its time for my weekly call to Kawasaki to ask where it is :kuda:

Have you ridden the new Z1000 Matt? Col who rides with us was going to get the Ninja 1000, but after riding them both decided that nudity was in his future ;)

Had one for the weekend a short time ago, simular to a Z1000, not as sporty in suspension setup i.e softer settings I suspect, lower pegs, same power probably more compliant, very very easy to ride.

If I was commuting it would be a goer and would make a great sports tourer ;)

Blasphemy! Sacrilege! Heathen! Unclean! Get down on your knees sinner & beg for forgiveness!

As Phil so rightly says, in Oz, there is NO replacement for a ZRX!

Hi Phil,

No I haven't and probably won't. While they are no doubt a good bike, I don't personally like the look of them and the pillion accom is just not going to suit us at all. The pillion seat on the Ninja1000 is a bit better though a 2nd hand Rex could still be the outcome in all this.
