I just drilled & tapped the holes in the Gix calipers to M10 fine, there's more than enough meat left IMHO.
Good upgrade, the Gix calipers are a fair bit lighter & there's noticeably more braking power than the 4 spots on the track (used HH pads in both)

Addict; did you upgrade the MC aswell or did you use the standard?

The ZXR750 & ZX7R use the same master cylinder even though the ZX7R has the 6 pot calipers so I would say the stock master cylinder will work fine with the GSXR or ZX7R 6 piston calipers
I dont plan on changing the master cylinder to fit my ZX7R brakes

I use a 5/8 master, a 14mm one has too much lever travel for my liking.

What master cylinder did you use or what bike was it from?

The later model parts are generally cheaper too, It pays to have a late model bike but then I spose there would be no fun in upgrading or simply not much need to be upgraded
Its a shame the later model calipers dont fit, Especially for this price>

I reckon they wont go up much at all but you never know? They wont wont on the ZXR forks though, They have radial type mounts

I am thinking of using these calipers with adapter mounts. Phil has adapters for his ZRX and radial calipers fitted.....its a pretty easy conversion if you get the spec's right

Yeah I have come across the radial type adapter/mounts before, Does the ZRX have the same mount spacing as the ZXR?
Im pretty happy with the ZX7R calipers I got for $50US & sent from the USA with a ZX7R lower triple clamp so the price worked out pretty good all up
Just over $100AU for the calipers & the lower triple clamp including postage to Australia is pretty reasonable
The EBC (FA188) HH brake pads that came with the calipers are worth more than that alone>

A bit of a comparison between the ZXR & ZX7R front calipers>
I will find out the approx weight difference tomorrow, You can certainly notice how much lighter the ZX7R calipers are just by picking them up though

Anything that has the 6 piston calipers as standard will have a 5/8 bore M'cyl. ZX6/7/9, GSXRs, TLs, 'Busas, YZF, FZR, etc.

(As mentioned in my post above) From what I found the ZXR 750 & ZX7R use the exact same master cylinder (With a 15.8mm piston which means it is basically the same master cylinder & will work & feel just the same)?>
Note part number 43020-1054 on both these pages below (Which is a 15.8mm piston)>
94-ZXR750

2000-ZX7R

Same for the ZX9 & ZX6>
97 ZX6R
http://www.motosport.com/motorcycle/oem ... source=oem
97 ZX9R
http://www.motosport.com/motorcycle/oem ... source=oem
+ they all use the same lever (Shown below in the link) so there is no difference in the ratio/leverage etc etc, Same master cylinders, Not sure how you would have noticed any difference between a ZXR750 & ZX7 master cylinder apart from fresh fluid & bleeding the brakes perhaps?

My ZXR had a 14mm m/cyl when I got it, I found it OK with the 4 spots but it had too much lever travel when I put the Gix calipers on so I changed to a 5/8 & all was good.

I wonder what the 14mm master cylinder was off because it certainly did not belong on a ZXR750? Maybe it was off a 250?
The master cylinder kits show that the ZXR750 & the ZX7R use the same (15.8mm) internals>
