Was 60-70cm caught on a hand line. I'd loosely wrapped it around a boat tie-off on a jetty and walked away. Heard the line running out from about 10m away and luckily it didn't all fall in the water

Haha gotta love it no latest innovative fishing techniques or tackle, just a humble handline. :-)

You do so much fishing I reckon you should change your username to Rex C-hunt !!

jesus that snapper that johnnymac has - what a corker !!!

I used to fish - back in the years 1980-1995BK. That is Before Kids. Loved it. Salmon fishing down the south coast - off the rocks or along a good beach gutter when the schools are running - is about one of the best fishing experiences you can have I reckon.

This is my fishing rig......its an oldie but a goodie.....

down the south coast - Burrill Lake - setting up for an arvo session out on the lake....

the one taking the photo !! I thought you graduated from Remedial Photo Recognition already ??? :P

that is the cook on the right, and old mate Dean (aka Hippy Freak Show) in the boat. Legend coasty he is. Good mates with Layne Beachley, they go surfing together quite a bit when she is not on tour.

I wish it was my boat Marty. Apparently I already have enough toys and hobbies so I can't see one coming up anytime soon.
It will happen but probably five years away. So I'm in the same boat as you trying to get runs on my mates boats.

So considering the bloke who originally posted the question hasn't been on it since I think the thread is officially hijacked.

Anymore fishy photos from people????

Yep, Sorry about that been a bit busy.

Nice catches from Snappers to mako shark  to trouts to squids/calamari

Yet to actually catch my first fish. Line snaps or gets tangled  Started last year for about 2 months before i broke my collar bone. Looking to get back into it. Got some gear nothing major though.

I was wondering are there any good spots withing a 10-20km range from carlingford? As I don't have a car, going to some how make it there.
Tried lake parramatta, was a bust. I was told there was carp/eel/ bass. Didn't catch nothing except a duck that got eager to steal the bait(bread) of my hook.

I was actually thinking of giving this a go

Any thoughts?

Fitsy jump on a train and go the the harbour anywhere around the harbour should catch you something. Mostly not worth keeping but fun for some sport anyway.. If you want fresh water fish get off at Penrith and go to the Nepean. Bass, Mullet and in winter sometimes trout. There were heaps of trout last year due to the dam releasing shit loads of water and fish.
