Re: Which is the best model zx10?
Its only ugly if your going to slow, if your riding it you should have no time to worry but if your at a cafe then you shouldn't have one IMO as there are far better bikes made just for that

For the road the crim, gumby ad bug are a lot bigger.
The new 10 is very small. Smaller than the mozzie even. For the track there awesome but for the road they are small.
I agree with the above but I think the bug looks good. The gumby is an acquired taste and the crim has a fat arse

Going slow isn't a problem jonno .and i don't go to cafe.plus i ride a fair bit.And i know they all handle ok and i know that they all have heaps of power just wanted to know what models blokes like or dislike + i wouldn't mind a bike that looks ok is that a crime .Thanks for the heads up about the new 10
Re: Which is the best model zx10?
I personally prefer the look of the 08-10, especially the tail, it looks great. But for performacne you cannot cant deny the new 11+ model has all the fruit

Re: Which is the best model zx10?
The newer they are, the smaller they are, but they also go and handle much better.
A Crim will need a bit of work to the suspension and geometry to get it to handle. They are getting a bit old and the damping in them is a bit ordinary compared to the newer stuff. I just had my track bike sorted and it has made a HUGE difference in the handling. That being said, Leanne's 2010 model handles just as good with everything stock so they definitely improved a lot over the 6 years. Her bike with just a slip-on also goes better than my Crim with a full system and Power Commander and drives forward better rather than wanting to wheel-stand or spin up, but fixing the geometry and suspension on the Crim improves these things quite a bit. Her bike feels like a 600 compared to the crim and was very hard for me to fit on before we dropped the pegs and raised the bars. The 2011+ model is that much smaller again, but shit loads more power and even better handling once you sort the rear end, but I would never ride hard enough on the road to warrant getting one. The Gumby is the one model I know very little about as I have only ridden one and it was pretty much stock.
As for the Bug, there is a difference between the '08-'09 models and the 2010 model they changed the angle of the engine in the frame to improve the front end and it made a big difference in the way they steer. If I was getting a bug, I would definitely go for the 2010, but you will need to put some riser clip-ons on it if you don't want to be in a full racing position. When we changed Leanne's clip-ons we raised them 2.5 inches and it made the bike more comfortable and took a lot of weight of the front end so it doesn't chew up front tyres as fast. It still handles great, but she can now ride it for long periods without her back seizing up.
