Depends on the oil.
4 litres of Motul 4100 is around $AU40 depending on where you go. Thats what? ~$US30 for 4.2 quarts

This is the oil I use.
http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/Mot ... 0W-40.aspx

It costs around 8-10 US dollars. The ZX-10R takes 3.2 quarts with filter change. I waited until my bike had about 1500 miles before switching from Petroleum to make sure it was broke in a bit. Good but expensive stuff here.

Yep. I used to wash it once a week. Then it got a scratch on it. Now I don't wash it.

I know exactly how you feel, and I did the same for a while, no washing.
I don't use water and a hose very often, only when its nasty.

I know its hard to believe but two excellent products for cleaning your bike and keeping it new, come out of aresal cans. 1. The Honda Cleaner and polish, it is great. OR 2. Plexus is the best, probably the same stuff. Anyway it cleans chain oil splatter off the fenders as well as cleaning my windscreen without any scratches. Try it out you'll be amazed, I was.

How would the plexus remove dust ? If the dust still there and you wipe it wouldn't it cause scratches ?

I'm currently running Castrol GPS 10w 50 semi synthetic in my 10.
Cost me $36 for 4 litres... you can't beat that.
it was 20% of at super cheap auto... :-)
With 10's running quite hot the 50 viscosity works well on hot days..

I did run Putoline full Synthetic from Whites Racing in my 9 and that was good value at about $40 or $45 for 4 litres...

I still reckon mr sheen is the go for cleaning at less than 5 bucks a can and nothing removes grease and fingerprints quite like it.

just spray it on and let it sit for a few minutes and give it a wipe.

From what I can work out. Mr Sheen is exactly the same as "Honda polish" that 99% of the USA use for cleaning bikes.
