Naah they invented TRAILERS for the harleys.... I hae been riding in the pissing rain all week and while it wouldnt make my top ten of things to do, its pleasant in a different way. The smell of the greay water evaporating off your exhaust, the additional practice in the art of the swerve you get from already mentally challenged taxi drivers, and that smug feeling of satisfaction as you wheel in 1/2 an hour before your flat mate does. And hey, who doesnt think someone riding in the rian isnt hardocre?? Chiks gotta dig it.....

I don't agree - riding in the rain just requires a different skillset, and in fact can actually improve your dry-riding skills.
Riding in the rain requires a higher level of focus, and much finer control of the bike. If you can learn to ride well in the rain, riding in the dry becomes that much easier.
Besides, if you never ride in the rain the panic and uncertainty that hits when you get stuck in the rain could be very dangerous.

Thanks Pabs the rain arrived last night, while i was at Kevs without my dririder ...... 9 plastic bags & a roll of pvc tape later i arrived(all but elbows & hands dry) after a 15 minute ride to work for my nightshift.
I endorse Ty's comments, i take riding in the rain as a personal challenge from "Mother Nature" the "biaaaaaatch".
I Take pride when i survie the ride ... again (touch wood). Must get a car on full rego one year this scoot commuting will get boring eventually ........ NOT

I thoroughly recommend riding in the rain. I've even gone out on the weekend for a Sunday ride in the rain, and have also done a big ride from Canberra to Batemans Bay via Bega where it rained about 75% of the time.

It takes the fear out of riding in the wet so you can be more comfortable and relaxed, but it helps if you've got effective waterproof gear.

I just got home from work, while riding in the rain. Asd I left, i thought, its not raining that heavy, so no dririder pants. % minutes later, it pi**ed down, I got home, soaked. But it was OK, even fun when the back wheel spun up on a traffic light white line.

I have to agree with you Ty, last Sunday night I got caught in the rain riding home from E.C., as I have just returned back to bikes after 17 years and NEVER went on a social ride if it even looked like it was going to rain, it just was the worst at first, thinking to myself this is just crazy, after a while I just focused more and made it OK I just made more room for everthing that could go wrong, now the slippery garage floor thats another story.
