Tyre Sizes
Well that's great
I got the pilot power on the back of my 11 and just fitted one to the front, now you guys tell me they are not good for the heavy bikes..+ my 100kg? What's the good news then? If I ride easy, as I do
that they will behave and I won't be stuck on the side of the new England HWY with a hole in the rear?

Chamie mayyyyyyte. The front power is fine & if your not Loading the Rear tyre up too much it should be too. But i would buy a tire repair Kit & gas canisters just the same especially if your doing a long rides.
There's been a gazillion posts about tyres in here mate all you have to do is hit the Search function to get some really interesting reading on any bike subject.
Was riding yesterday with 3 bikes all on shinko's & not a bad word mentioned.
At $270 a pair fitted I think i found my tyres till Mick runs out of them.

please tell us brett in your humble opinion what food should we eat as well? any tips about oil or maybe what fucking religeon we should follow ?
brett if you think this is personal you are wrong , i just think you are talking out of your ass again !
tyres are subjective how much money is too much money to spend on staying upright ?
should we save that extra dollar and buy a cheap tyre ?
i journo for amcn once wrote that "you cannot spend too much on tyres"
&pilot powers have fared me well , never punctured no "Big chunks ripped out of the center of the tyre "
but maybe i dont ride my bike hard enough ?
love & kisses to all
fabio
the soon to be returning

Hey fab would i be right in saying that you infact run rensports on your bike?
I look at a number of things when i say something works or doesnt work and why and although i havnt had a chance too actually ride on the road for a goodly while if i was a biger unit on a 10r or anything combined weight over about 300kg I would be looking for something else for a back tyre.
Thinking they where designed for a light weight sports bike rather than a tourer and the failures i have seen on the road where destroyed rather than patchable like a steelbelted 020.

If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

the Pilot Powers I am running on the 12 are working really well..........they leave blackies out of corners just like the OEM Dunlops dids
over 800km's so far, no drama's at all, I am >100kg on a 12R, and Powers were *highly recommended* by the local K dealer ( in fact by a bloke there who has known me for years, is a hell of a hard-charger as well, and I value his opinion.........)
my 2c worth. I love 'em.

Gee brett does mick's mrs know about this relationship you 2 have.Pontikat wrote:FuTaNt mate .... who do you think gives me this Tyre Misimformation ?.
"Mick the Tyre Magician" who IS Motor Trade Machionists in Goodna. I've been there at least once a fortnight for the last 12 months.
Tyre selection comes back to the type of riding you do .....commuting/touring/trackdays/wkd fang stuff etc.
I go for the softest legal tyres that $ can buy as my bike is primarily used for wkd fang(spirited riding) and the odd trackday..........probably go for power race front and pilot race rear again. I'll be @ mick's 2morrow for the lengthy tyre debate/dicussion so stay tuned punters!
Conversation usually starts off.............gday mick ...........has a look @ my tyres.........gee you've been having fun lad

Everyone else seems to be putting in their 2 cents worth in about Pilot Powers, so here's mine. Had a set on a ZZR1100. Stuck like s#*t to a blanket, tipped in well, got reasonable k's (part commuting, part fanging) and felt good all round except for one thing. Get within about 500 metres of the back end of a truck on the highway and it would start to wander and shift all over the shop. Checked and changed tyre pressure, checked steering head/wheel/swingarms bearings, replaced rear wheel bearings (the only ones a bit suspect and even then not too bad) and it all made no difference. Put a set of 012ss Bridgestones on and all the wandering was a thing of the past. Might be okay on a lighter bike, might even be good on a different ZZR, dunno.
If a man says something, and there is no woman there to hear him, is he still wrong?
