well, i've just got back from my mates where i mounted the shock this morning

took all of about 25 mins and was piss easy.

thanks to Dave (madkaw) for the hints on setup, it seems to work like a champion.

i rode home on a wave of ohlins induced euphoria.

BTW when i got to my mates he was in the process of finalising a deal to sell his 98 zx9r the same as mine, i pointed the new owner our way and gave him a KSRC sticker

no problem, we measured it all before we started and then when we put the ohlins in.

i set it with about 30mm sag, seems pretty much right. i havent changed the ride height as yet as my front tyre is cactus.

we went for a run thru nasho this morning, i gave it a good run over the tarred motocroos track from waterfall to stano and is was a little wallowie on corner entry, we were moving at a good pace tho.

i added 2 clicks more compression and rebound for the return trip and had another spirited run with frank (vtrsp1) and jarrod the wheelie king (vfr800) and it was much better, i'll leave it like that untill i get the new tyre in a week or two.

when we pulled up at thye end and were waiting for the lights to change we watched jarrod dissapear out of sight up the higway towards engdine in full balance point mono on the vfr, he was still going when we last sight of him over the hill about 6-700 metres away. i swear that guy could wheelie anything.

seriously ty, that was the BEST thing i did to my zzr6, if you get one make sure you speak to steve cramer (the importer) and get the longer spring to raise the rear a bit. can never have too much ground clearance and its not like you need to have the seat low either.

its the same setup that troy bayliss, dean thomas and damon buckmaster used in their 93-94 zzr6 race bikes.

here is a photo i took on todays run of the whole bike, not just the ohlins.

I was going through my box of goodies on the weekend and I found the eibach spring that came on my Ohlins.. I think its a 700lb spring, the std ohlins is a 500 - 550 I think.
If you find the std one a little light you can give this one a go if you want...

Looks nice Phil! Much prettier than my WP, but at least mine is still better than the standard jobby.

Hey Dave, that wouldn't fit on my WP would it? As you can see I've had to put a fair bit of preload on it cause I'm a big lad

I'm not sure, I'll get the code numbers of it and let you know its length, diameter and stuff and we'll see..
Alternatively, if you know someone who is familiar with both shocks, like shock treatment or Frank pons they may know...

That is if Phil don't want it... (I know it fits his shock.. )
