We had a demo from Japan in a '50 model with no glasses and yes it works...

I still watch TV on a CRT, it's all afarkin gimic for a few minutes watching crap each day. I haven't watched anything since Friday (now Monday pm) and it doesn't fuss me. PC screen is a huge wide Flat HD, and I might consider upgrading that to 3d!

Holographic stickers are a fixed image. The last fixed image I saw on TV looked like this !! Pretty exciting stuff really !!!

I will check that site out zx603, thanks for the link - but I still cannot see how it is possible to get 3D images from a 2D screen, regardless of the marketing hype from the manufacturers and and special TV's.....it simply is not possible from all the info I have read, unless the 2 images that are transmitted and shown on the screen, are polarised together with the use of glasses....

3D cameras that record 3D even use twin lenses that approximate the distance between normal adult human eyes - this is how they achieve the 2-picture image.

Everyone watching needs a pair, they cost over $100 and they dont even have a long lasting life-cycle. Then you have to get replacements! Also, after the praise the Nintendo 3DS is getting with its 3D screen WITHOUT glasses, its the way to go. Its still not there yet (3Dtv without glasses) in terms of a solution for the lounge room application, but that's where they (manufacturers) should be focusing their efforts on.

Next, theres hardly any content. Youve got soccer, but that will go after a month. Rugby has come and gone. The only thing there is, is videogames and even then, theres a handful of games that support it.
Plus, theres the health concerns and it wont work if your cock-eyed either.

Invest in a wicked FullHD 2d tv with great colors and motion.

Although in hindsight I should have bought an LCD over a plasma, what we've got now does me just fine. I know that a week after you buy something there's going to be something better/smaller/bigger/faster for 75% of what you paid, so it's just a matter of what you need to watch and what you're prepared to be satisfied with. I only retired my 63cm mono CRT (which cost me $1000) a couple of years ago and I bought that to watch the 1994 world cup in USA.

I'll stick with the plasma (which I'm happy enough watching my ripped DVD backup copies on without noticing any massive lack of picture quality) probably for another ten years?

I'll grab a 3D TV when they're giving them away free with hip replacements (by redemption of course).

I'm happy with my Panasonic Viera 42" Plasma.

3D, I'm still not convinced......
