Fab be gentle on that little bike I would want ya to break it in half or anything... maybe you should give it back too the kids to play with. :D
If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

if that's a 6, mine's a 125 mito......

anyhoo.. back to the original topic: i traded my 6 for a 12 one day (cheers scotty37!) and it SURPRISED THE SHIT OUTTA ME!!!! I thought for sure it would be a big bulky fat bastard (we had just topped up with fuel too!) that would require my whole 60kgs on one side of it to get around a turn... WRONG!! It was sweet as.... smooth.... actually LIGHT... nimble..... YES, SERIOUSLY..... all those "little" type desriptive words!! it's amazing really....
still, not for me (i like revving mine to hell!), but a very smooth operator. as everyone else has said, you wouldn't be regretting a new one of those!!
and lane splitting, that's what bikes are for! and MadFab... I'd like to agree with you on your opinion of 6's beating 12's, but uh, i know from following a few 12's (more than i can count on one hand.... well, almost) there is no way in hell!!! (although i suck at riding my 6 anyway! and the 12's i try to follow have rocket ship pilots... you may know a few of them????)

I thought it was a ZX2R?? Looks like it needs some work on the suspension, the front wheel is up and he's only just sat down on it

...although I think Madkaw should have left some of the original stickers on there so Fab doesn't get confused again about what bike he's riding

...oh yeah, my impression of riding an '05 12 was it felt very much like my old 9 but with the power of my 10

...and Dave didn't seem to have too much trouble punting his 12 around the corners on the weekend

One thing about the 12 is, it don't like commuting!! Gets hot quick in confined places, give it open roads and it's happy.

Heavier to throw around, but shit it moves out (way tooo fast to mention), ride an 01 occasionally (shh don't let my 636 hear) and find I have to work cornering etc.

IMO The new ones are just so "Plain", the 01's look sharper with their graphics

After asking a few people about that pic i have found out that its a victory wheelie pulled by Fab as he came in 15th in a junior(He lied about his age and said he was female as well) pocket bike race.

yeah I surely hate it when the bike starts cooking while waiting in traffic if you cant split or if you are just stuck as does happen from time to time, maybe an oil cooler might be a good idea, cool down that big old 1200cc engine a bit better, what do people use for aftermarket cooling?

Does it really start cooking though?

Mine has no greater temp range than the 9 it replaced?

If your fans cut out at higher temp ranges (ie; it's cooled down enough to turn 'em off) then that's OK.

If your fans don't cut out, time to remove the radiator and get it cleaned!

im not sure if it does start cooking, I remember it only happened to me once but I had been at a set of lights for ages turning right, light went green move forward a bit stop again, go again it took ages and I remember my engine was quite hot and it just cut out. I dont really know too much about engines, I just always get a bit worried when it gets too hot, I like to take care of my bikes

I use my 12 quiet a bit for commuting. Indeed the temp gauge does tend to crawl up when in traffic and mainly at a standstill. But then that's why it has 2 cooling fans to keep the temp down. And they work a treat let me tell you. My needle goes one spot over half when the fans kick in and never moves further from there. My zzr-1100 use to get hotter and it always ran sweet. Beauty about the 12 too is that I never know when the fans have kicked in unless i listen for them. There is no tell tale signs of hot air being blown over your shins cooking them nicely to a beaut shade of red.
