I had a gander at the link and they look like a really simple but well engineered piece of stainless!!

I will keep them in mind should I ever have trouble changing my oil filter!

I fitted the new (thanks Phil) exhaust up on the weekend and Macgyvered myself an exhaust hanger out of some scrap 3mm plate alloy I had in the shed. I don't have any real metal working tools, and as it is a stop gap didn't focus in any way shape or form on asthetics!

But, it's light, strong enough and is effective till the genuine one arrives from the US. Yes that's right, I could not find a 2nd hand one for sale in Oz, so had to buy one off a forum member in the US

They wanted $250 for a new one at Kawasaki??? I s'pose it's only the profit which makes it expensive.

I got a left AND a right hanger, with pegs and bolts delivered to my door for AU$100.00.
The jury rigged bracket took a total of an hour to make, using a Hacksaw, a Rubber mallett, a vice, a felt pen, a drill and an angle grinder!

Hi-tech...I know! I Didn't do anything logical and draw a template or anything, I just used my eye and lined up the plate against where I thought it would go and started cutting and bending to suit. The result shows this vividly

!!! But it ended up a nice tight, firm fit which hangs onto that fuffler just like a bought one would, just with an ugly Betty factor you can't jump over!
I just chucked the seat on to put some weight on it to see how strong it is and although I wouldn't climb up onto the seat with it, once mounted it can take as much force as you want and is near as comfy as the standard peg!!!

Brendan, take a good look at the pic mate, it might be your footrest for the Nabiac run if the others don;t arrive in time!!!!!

I spent some time making the shed workable last night. A good three hours was spent, throwing shit out pretty much!!!

Anyways, it's clean and neat and workable again! While rummaging about however, I tripped over two different sets of little indicators. Which I had obviously bought with the intention on fitting at some stage, and never did. I had some little plastic block off plates somewhere too, so I tracked them down and today, I went to work. I had to change the front indicators as they were U/S, and had a set of clear lensed little rectangle ones with a tapered shape set aside for that purpose. So when I tripped over the other set, I thought i may as well use them. They are little carbon look bullet shaped ones which will match the oggies nicely, with tinted yellow lenses. So I cut a few bits of wire, fitted some new bullet connectors of better quality than is provided and fitted them up. With all the fiddling and routing wires, the whole job probably took an good hour including a few stops for a choof! They look a lot neater than the chunky big fuckers that came off it though!!

I'll post some more pics when I have done a little more. I'm not dragging the camera out just for some rear indicators!
I went past the painters about 5.30 this arvo on the way back from a client, to check on progress and it's painted......Woohoo !!! The tank is complete apart from a final polish tommorrow and the fairings and guard are painted, they just need the decals fitted which they will do in the AM! SO, with any luck, I can pick them up sometime tommorrow and maybe have it back on the road by Saturday morning.
What's the weather forcast for Saturday?

Over here in WA the fuzz are cracking down on little indicators, and missing rear fenders. Riders get issued with yellow stickers, and have to put the proper stuff back on.
The weather here on Saturday? Sunny!
Bill.
