Clay, whats so good about an R1? or a gixxer for that matter

Love the look of the R1, completely different to all the other litre bikes. The front end looks mad, the pipes under the tail, though I'd probably get akras for it to slim down the rear end a bit. The 3 different mapping modes appeal to me, can't believe the zx10r doesn't have it. And the engine of course, it's like 2 in 1. Only reason I wouldn't get the R1 is if its just too big for me to go straight to, in which case I'd get the gixxer because it's the only bike that offers a 750 and I don't want a 6.
The previous model zx10r was a really nice looking bike, but I don't like the new one.
The other thing I noticed was that the overall quality of yamaha and honda seem to be a level above the kwakas and even suzuki, just when looking closely at the bikes it seems that way to me. Little things like the dash and finish of certain areas. But the new honda is ugly as with the flat front end, the 07 model was hot.
I like the triumph daytona 675, its a sweet looking bike too, but don't know how I'd like a triple and besides its British, not jap.
