It won't fall off !!!! I've used an Ixon tankbag for several years (with weaker magnets), and it stayed on the tank (fully loaded) even when the bike fell over.

I always figured the strap was just to sling over your shoulder, or just to get in the way.

yesterday purchased the ALDI tankbag and the GPS, seems like great value.
The R1 can't say I don't ever spend any money on it

There's some bike GPSes at my local Aldi still (Hurstville). They have been discounted to $150 each.
