Re: 2006 ZX10R brake question
Hey,
I just finished fitting my new set of Nissin calipers. Everything went real smooth and they bled up great. Absolute night and day compared to the old stock brakes.......but I have 1 issue.
I took the bike out to be in the new pads and test the callipers. 60kph nice and firm. 80kph still feel great and really pull the bike up well. 100kph OMG the death shudder. I thought the callipers had come loose. I checked the bike over and no issues. Start again. The shudder comes on a 105kph and stops at 90kph. Took the bike right up to 200kph (closed road) and the felt great until 105kph and shudder stopped again at 90kph.
What can this be???? A warped disc would give a constant shdder, right?? Lines have no air. Got me stumped. Could it be the discs???
Any ideas???

sounds like discs...
as you said they are not loose, dont know how a caliper could make them shudder...

Re: 2006 ZX10R brake question *Now have Issues*
I had a think about that today so I'm going to try the old zip tie trick and see. Just seems weird that from 200kph to 105kph is fine and strong braking and from 90kph to stop is perfect aswell. It's just that 15kph zone that is the issue.
I was told that it may be a seized disc rivet?? How do I check they arn't seized??
