Thanx guys for all the kind wishes, but the biggest thank you has to go to my 5 fantastic travelling companions, & bike pick-up expert Brett (ponti).

We arrived home this arvo, at about 5.30, after a 5 & a half hour drive.
I think I might just take it easy for the next few day & pop a few pain killers.

Also, to all the people who rang & sent Text messages, thank you for your kind thoughts.

I even had a phone call today from 1 Mr J Stauffer, told me I had better be at Winton!!!

Thanx again & i'm sure the scratches will just buff out, & do you think I could seriously buy another bike???????

DEFINATELY NOT!

BTW- Monday's ride was about as good as it gets, so to was the eggplant moussaka.

ah HA ! the eggplant moussaka !!! I knew there was something I forgot to mention earlier....will do a quick review of the ride as well...

Phil had been talking up the Eggplant Moussaka all week, I had visions of some type of vegan orgasm, but let me yell you right now, Eggplant Moussaka ROCKS. Just imagine a lasagne-type feed with thin layers of eggplant, heaps of vegies and chips and salad, and you are on the way. 1 bowl of this stopped 6 blokes in their tracks...........that says it all really  I will be stopping at Tintaldra Pub again, its KSRC-approved and tagged now.....

Mondays Ride - A Spectators View......PI to Tintaldra...

Started early, at San Remo 0715hrs  the soft-core Sydney crew  arrived about 0730, and away we went.

Phil set the pace early, we had a long days ride ahead. Stopping for juice only, it was transport-section stuff up to Bairnsdale, passing a few bikes along the way  . The run up through Bruthen-Omeo was good, apart from the short sections of fresh roadworks, and then up to Mt Hotham FFS it was f'n FREEZING up there, plenty of fresh horse-shit on the road to keep us on our toes.

Once at Hotham, did the obligatory photo-and-piss stop, we were literally sitting inside the clouds as they rolled over the mountain, very surreal.

Took off down Hotham, within a few corners the sun was out and temperature climbing.....my bag slipped a couple of times so I had to stop to readjust, Phil's sidestand switch was playing up, this resulted in the pair of us being left behind for the run down Hotham......which, as always, was a great run down, trying to catch Wattie, Shaun and the Crim !!

After this stretch, we headed off to Tawonga Gap. Team Crim took pole position by the scruff of the neck, and set an outstanding pace ! Phil glued to the back wheel of the 10, Wattie chasing Phil's tail and the MFP12 breathing down Wattie's neck..... :P Shaun and Hoffy only just behind the pack of 4....The run up and down Tawonga was great, Mick did some motorcrossing out of his seat on a corner or 2, and had the 10 spinning up nicely to the point of fully sideways at one point !! I tried hard to round Wattie up, but he was just too quick. Running wide through a couple of corners didn't help either, but I can tell you how many grill bars there are on an International 6-metre flatbed !! :?

Took some more good photos at Tawonga look-out, then off we go again. There is a good run alongside the river, before we hit the secret-squirrel road that is a team favourite. I managed to tag onto Phil's back wheel through here, had a huge time, with TeamCrim and Wattie staying in sight through the bends. It was chasing Phil through this section that the 12 got some further fairing damage, ah well shit happens....I wish that type would happen every day....... It was heaps of fun through here, not much traffic (the odd tanker  ), and a really good surface. Left a few signatures out of a few corners........the Crim had been doing the same right through Tawonga as well........

Up to Walwa for juice, then onto Tintaldra to end what had been a fantastic days ride, its a long run from PI to the border, but we all made it OK, all on roughly the same pace (ie slower than Phil  ), but it was a highlight of the trip. The eggplant moussaka just topped it off nicely.

That was our Monday. It was phat !!!

Well if there is one thing I've learned from this and is highlighted by the damage on the helmet is that Americans definitely don't need to wear them.
