Mate, when I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading !RG wrote:....I think I should stop drinking too...
I probably should have pointed out that it's South Australian legislation. No idea if the same applies interstate. I always forget that legislation isn't the same interstate.mitch179 wrote:could you link me to the document you got that out of ? ?

No Aus Stds sticker = Infringement Notice(definitely in QLD). Just hope they don't look at your helmet if you ever get pulled up.aardvark wrote:I probably should have pointed out that it's South Australian legislation. No idea if the same applies interstate. approved motorbike helmet means a helmet that complies
with—
(a) AS 1698–1988; or
(b) another standard the chief executive considers is at least
equal to that standard.

That should get you out of it anyway
forgive my sarcasm, but this is so typical of bogus legislation that is just a goldmine for a good lawyer.......RG wrote:(b) another standard the chief executive considers is at least

What qualifications does the chief executive have that enables him to make an informed decision about helmet standards FFS ???I can guarantee you that he won't have a Degree in Physics, or Engineering, or Chemistry et al....of course the chief executive can rely on the advice of his own departmental *experts*, who wouldn't know shit from clay - if they did they sure as hell would be working elsewhere, where their talents would be appreciated and utilised.........
sorry for the rant, but this type of *Bullshit* legislation is worthy of nothing else but ridicule.
