Surely if you can explain it to the finance company they'll just tell you to bring in the proof of insurance immediately after its organised.
Bike shop rang and said I can just insure with current rego and they will keep plate when they send it.
Haven't heard back from CUA yet though. Bike had ogly knobs and K&N Filter and Kaneg type stand done for a
customer who's finance fell through, so I get it for nothing.

$12000 plus $500 to get it shipped with Bikes Only

Your other option might be to insure it as unregistered (Shannons,IC Frith or Jardine Lloyd Thomson). It's covered for everything including transit damage so long as you don't ride it. Then when you get it registered in Vic, cancel the unreg policy and put a full comp in place. Unreg insurance for my tracky costs me <$200 per year.
and congratulations...there's nothing like a new bike

Hey slacko you could have gone up there on a cheap one way flight & ridden your new baby home on the Qld plates.
They give you a week & then you just re-register in Melbourne after your road trip.

you need to do some bonding & then give your new love a proper name ..........
fanny
fifi
blacky
the angry ant
think of how much fun it would be visiting lots of ksrcians along the way
it would only take a few weeks & you would be home with a nice tan
probably not happy wife & you would have to sleep outside snuggled up in the garage with your bike
see?
it's all good
