Just thought I'd throw this out there

If your bike was youir main form of transport and you had an insurance claim, how long would you accept for the repairs to take?

a hell of a lot quicker than what yours is taking if it isnt fixed by now
I know you got the bike back, but without fairings, and those are the bits that take the longest, but! i woulda thought that if it's taken them this long to fix maybe it was a pretty $$$ repair, should kicked the tank in when you got back up off the ground hahaha :P

2 months so far. Not everything has turned up, they're unhappy with a bit of the paint (but the sticker which hasn't arrived should cover it) and the welding on a fairing mount is crud. Oh, and nothing has been put onto the bike yet and they haven't got the time to do it.

Took 8 weeks to fix my 10, then another 2 weeks to fix the bits they forgot...
It seemed all the parts had to come from Japan... so they say..

Exactly...the parts take a maximum of three weeks to come over from Japan from when they are ordered...the problem is the slack bastards don't friggin order them for a few weeks...like ZX10R decals for the tail section you got two months ago

Yes.... Now wouldn't you'd think they'd have stuff like that in stock.??

From memory mine went something like this:

2 weeks for insurance to approve repair
2 weeks of fucknuckle doing nothing
2 weeks for parts to arrive
1 week for parts to be sent to spraypainters
2 weeks for parts to be put ON the bike
1 week to fix it after I returned it because they did a shit job

My personal worst was my early 80ish GSX250 (a beast in its day) which I bought new, got T Boned by an old dude in an EJ Holden (yes, with a bowling hat on). Took nine moneths because it was a new model and they couldn't get parts from Japan (which would have to be a load of horseshit)

Ive got you all beat....

My GPX twofiddy had an oil leak..... They tried to fix it under warranty (in NZ all reputable dealers give you a mechanical 3 month warranty even on used vehicles, they have to do that to be a part of the LMVD...) so replaced the valves, the rings, the oil filter and oil.... it still did it.... So I took it back to them again and again and again until finally they gave up and offered me my money back or for me to hold on to the bike and trade it in for exactly the price I paid..... (so I rode around on a bike for free for a year)

So.... It was never fixed.... beat that..... infinity baby!!

Well it depands on the insurence company where it was done and how much damage the bike has. but for a full fix with faring repair and pant round 2months if it goes to a good tech.

Mate of mine crashed his 04 triumph daytona end of feb, just got it back yesterday.

Another mate crashed his 06 R1 mid May got it back this week too!!

I crashed my Zx6R road bike on track in Jan, it spent 2 weeks gathering dust at frame straighteners, 1 week being straightened and another 2-3 weeks over the easter anzac day period being painted.

I rode it a bit in between frame straightening and painting (no Insurance  ) In fact the first ride i took it on after getting it back my triumph riding mate binned his bike chasing me....doh!

The FZ1 went down on Easter Monday in April, and we still don't have it back. FFS order the bloody decals as the same time you order the fairings!
