				Hi all,
looks like a friend and I are trecking down to Motogp this year. We will be staying in melb and only be coming down to the island on the Sunday.
And before you mention camping my friedn isnt keen on it hence the motel idea.
From the Melb CBD, is it easy to get to the island. We will be driving and i thought bout leaving the car in the parking zones on the island.
Honest advice and tips only please.
Cheers
The Roc

Oh and if you decide you have Sat early morning free. Drive to Cranbourne to see 10,000+ bike leave for the Island.

The ONLY spot to view the race, is Turn 1!

				Aardy is correct.
However pre ksrc i would have said Siberia G'stand or the Casy Stoner hill next to it.
And I would take a bus, (heaps of packages) they get special leave coming out AND you can get pissed as a mute

Sitting in a car watching it boil is not my idea of fun.
And you can watch the road side on the way out (amazing!) instead of trying to miss those silly motorbikes riders doing burnouts and stuff....

sorry to say but do NOT do this....
the Eastern freeway starts in the city and takes you to Ringwood
...which is a bloody long way from PI
and
never gets anywhere near the Monash Freeway
to PI???
You take the M1 Monash Fwy from the south edge of the CBD
which takes you to the Sth Gippsland Fwy (M420)
and you get onto that and that takes you to PI via the Bass Hwy
(also M420)
cya there chaps
cheers

Have a great day! Consider catching one of the (many) buses from Melbourne instead of driving yourself.
