Front end shudder under braking @ 90-80kmh

Got a real odd one, Under hard braking from speed, the front end shudders severley as the bike comes through the 90kmh to 80kmh range then it's linear braking all the way.
Under light braking thre is no shudder at all.
First things I've tried was getting the front wheel rebalanced (all OK), Disc runout is in spec, Headstem bearings have been checked and are OK
I'm otherwise out of ideas... While the discs are still in spec, I clutching at straws and thinking that I will have to chan the rotors (maybe they aren't "floating" properly..)
Any suggestions anyone??

Run up and down the Reefton using lots of revs and hard braking and that should fix it!

Most probably due to tyre wear

Yeah hows your front tyre.
If all else fails and you can't find the cause, check the wheel bearings.
On my Honda mine were on the loose side and under hard braking the head would shake a bit at about the speeds you mentioned.

check that all your triple clamps are tight and your steering head bearing nut is tight. *dont overtighten*
This happened to me once, and there were a few loose bolts in that region

Fixed the problem.

Re: worn tyres.. the tyres are basically brand new.. I've had it rebalanced and have checked the headstem & triple clam bearings.
They're all good..
I wouldn't think that it could be fork oil..
And if it was brake disc warp, then I would have thought the shudder would show up under low speed braking..

mate of mine had the same trouble with his old 1100 on braking ended up being dirty and low fork oil

brother had the same syptoms on his zx9 recently.
replaced the tyres and the discs at the same time so unfortunatly we never isolated what the actual cause/solution was. the problem is gone now after doing that so im guessing that if your tyres are new then it probably is your discs.

Discs is my guess.
You wouldn't happen to use a disc lock would you
and maybe forgot to remove it

i had a similar problem on my old gpx750, replacing the front tyre removed the tendancy to head waggle under heavy braking.
