WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP leader, Casey Stoner, is the new God of MotoGP, according to former champion Valentino Rossi.

Rossi, who is deemed by many to be the greatest motorcycle racer of all time, anointed the Australian Ducati ace after being beaten by him in a breathtaking contest in Sunday's Catalunya Grand Prix in Barcelona.

Stoner and Rossi went head-to-head in the Catalan capital, with a Stoner keeping his nerve to claim his fourth win out of seven races this season, despite relentless pressure from the Italian.

"Truly, Casey is riding like a God," said Rossi after Stoner again hindered the Italian's plan for a sixth world title.

"Ducati did a great job with their bike but Stoner is now making the difference."

Stoner moved 14 points ahead of Rossi in the championship, 140 to 126, with Pedrosa third on 98.

Well, that was nice of him.....good on ya Rossi.

That was nice, but one has to think there are mind games still to be played, and this may just be the beginning

You know at the end of the day its just good to see
that Rossi can fuckup and its not just a one horse, or in this case monkey, race and if its an Australian
giving it to him its even sweeter !!!!!!!!!!

In the old days everyone around him would fall apart and Rossi would come out looking like roses and things would always work out in his favour, I thought he done a deal with the Devil so to speak , but last year and this year make the racing a lot better

well, yes and no.

Rossi has been playing these games for years - but in order to play a game, you need at least 2 contestants. Other racers only fall into his trap if they allow themselves to play the game. Once they do, the best contestant wins, and recently it has usually been Vale.....

Casey has to perform on the track anyway, regardless of anything else. What Vale says about riding "Like a God".......well I reckon that is probably the lamest thing he has ever said about another rider, if he is trying to put Casey 'off his game', well its just crap imho.

So what happens if Vale beats Casey in the next round ?? Is Vale then "Better than God " ????? You would almost expect him to believe in his own divine radiance !!!

Casey is just a good honest rider, who will see right through all the latin bullshit, and because of this, he will win this years Championship.

I was just reading how after Nicky's complementary comment about Casey after LeMans, he made a point of going to thank Nicky personally for saying something positive about him and not just the bike.

So I reckon Vale was trying to line him up for a one-on-one putdown when he came to thank him "For sure I say you riding like a God Casey, but don't forget I am God"
