Where to get lock wire pliers?

Am looking at putting lock wire on the track hack, and resent paying $70 for a pair of pliers. UK sites are offering them at £16 ($35), but once you add postage it doesn't become worth it.

So where can I get a pair at a reasonable price?

All tools don't do them, and total tools have always seemed very expensive to me. Supercheap would probably sell a pair that fall apart 1st time you use them on wire. But I don't think any of the three major car part shops sell these (Supercheap, Autobarn or Repco), bit too specialised.

You don't have to use the pliers - its just that most do because its neater.

I'd rather tie off the lock wire with my teeth

Sorry Marty, but I just can't bring myself to borrow your tools

Correct me if I'm wrong, but these pliers twist the wire for you yeah?

There was a bloke trying to flog these to my electricians at work. I can do a better job with a set of normal pliers!

yep, thats the one.

Once you get the hang of it, these pliers are *way* quicker to use than a normal set, and 100% neater......but it took me a lot of goes to get *the hang of it*....

Its the speed thing - knocking stuff over in the pits as quick as possible - normal pliers just don't cut the mustard when the clock is ticking....

Well, seeing as I used to use pliers on a daily basis (gogo sparky!) I'd bet my wire twisting skills against that of these pliers!

But if you think they help you...
