Dead Cylinder :(

Booo...

One of my KR-1S's dropped a ring at about 10000rpm and the barrel looks pretty nasty... I'm investigating options to have it replated but I'd like some info first, or even just a push in the right direction... In the meantime, I'm riding the other one, so all is not lost...

Being an Electrofusion cylinder, it can't be bored, honed or sleeved... Any damage has to be rewelded, and then the cylinder replated...

Has any one had any experience / contact with cylinder repairers in Australia (preferably QLD) that can do this type of work?

I take it that gasket and piston kits are easily obtainable from the local motorcycle parts store?

The other cylinder looks OK, but I'm in two minds as to whether I should do it too while the bike is apart... Thoughts?

Any other info / tips that you care to let me in on? Thanks again guys and gals!

sell it to the wreckers maybe? sounds like expensive work that needs to be carried out.
