side stand spring tension?

Hey guys,

Probably a stupid question which is being asked out of ignorance. I was just wondering if there was anything that can be done to increase the tension of the spring on the side stand? I've noticed that is not really functioning at all on my bike and the stand must always be returned or put down completely. This is usually not an issue, but i'd just like the extra piece of mind that if i managed not to put it up fully that it would pull itself into place (like ll my old bikes did).

Make sure the pivot is clean and lubed too, it can make a big difference to how well it returns

Yeah thought this may be the problem first of all so i cleaned it up, put some WD40 on it and hoped for the best. While it did make the moving of the stand an awful lot smoother, unfortunately it didnt assist with the weak spring tension.
