The latest crackdown on binge drinking could see popular alcohol promotions like cheap drinks and shooters, banned from pubs and clubs.

The new guidelines introduced by the Office of Liquor and Gaming would give director Albert Gardiner the power to cancel promotions that encourage binge drinking.

Unacceptable practices that include toss the boss, all you can drink, free drinks for ladies and extended happy hours.

Mr Gardiner says the focus is on protecting the community by reducing alcohol levels, binge drinking and violence.

But the Australian Hotels Association says licensees should be entitled to make their own responsible decisions on drink promotions.

All of the things that make Australia what it is are gradually being fucked over by right wing conservative Christian Groups. Bloody Do gooders and happy clappers should all piss off to the US if that's how they want to live. It sucks and I wish a pox on them all.

It's a bloody outrage it is!! How dare they try and force their own miserable, boring, conservative ways upon the rest of our lives!! I for one won't stand for it, so i'm off to the pub to drink till i can't stand no more!!!

But seriously, i can't stand how the governments solution for everything these days is to ban it or tax it away! Well i suppose, it does make more money than actually educating youngsters about things

Lets see more restriction on fuel hiking, public transport improvement, less means testing at tax time (just cus me and the missus work hard and do big hrs doesn't mean we should miss out on childcare rebates), making a new house available to the masses not the minority, control rates, reduce everyone to a 5 day week.

Make alchohol CHEAPER, get the people off the hard drugs by making the legal ones cheaper

Making something more expensive does not mean people stop buying it, they are just worse off when they do

If three pints of beer is binge drinking, almost the entire UK population binge drinks and I don't see them complaining
