200,000 miles and counting!

Was reading Big Bike World and came across this thread that I just had to share with you guys:
A few weeks ago I decided to take a close look at my 96 ZX-11's motor. After all, I didn't want to go down the same road as some others here and experiance a problem with the No3 rod bearing. What really got me concerned was watching my odometer pass the 200,000 mile mark with all original bearings, clutch and more. Everywhere I looked, during inspection, things looked great. All the rod bearings showed virtually no signs of wear. They looked like new. Even the dull finish that brand new bearings have was still there. Not one scratch or even a shinny spot on any of them. So, everything's going back in just like it was with the exception of a bucket full of brand new bolts and nuts.
Here's a little write-up from his website, Precision Cycle Works:
Dave Leonard, founder and owner of Precision Cycle Works has a long history in the motorcycle business having built countless machines for himself and for others. Also his mechanical engineering background gives him a unique insight into the way mechanical things work. Dave is also technical contributor for several motorcycle magazines.
200k MILES!

Just goes to show what good, regular maintanence will do.

Dave L knows his shit. I'm pretty sure he did some topend work on that engine. He looks after his gear though. I'm hoping for a similar lifespan on the ZRX. BTW 200000 Mile is around 320000km....

wow, according to bike sales values & depreciation averages, that means *does the math* for someone to buy that bike off you after 320kkm, you'd have to pay them about 40k for the pleasure of getting rid of the bike!
