old CPU wanted

Didnt want to put this in the "wanteds" as its not bike related.
If anyone is chucking out an old Pentium 2 or 3, I need an Intel type CPU for our music storage computer.
Needs to be at least 550 Mhz.
Can supply postage stuff, pm if you can help.

Check out your local computer swap meet, bount to be a stall selling these. Would be cheap as chips too.

hmmm i may have one laying around. ill check when i get home. i do know i have some 2.4Ghz and 2.8Ghz socket 748, not sure if they are working tho.

i have a 2gig tower without a hard drive or dvd burner, i'll have to see if the father inlaw still wants it!! if not its all yours if you want

I have a IBM Netvista sitting on the floor doing jack.
I believe it's a Pentium III 733MHz, go nuts before I turf it in the dumpster.

Its a bit slower than your after, but i have a celeron 300a sitting in the corner of my pc room not doing much. runs various linux distro's quite well, abeit at a slightly reduced pace.
