Shock Dyno sheets
I dyno'ed the rear shocks off my '91 zxr750 J1 at work. Thought they may have been of interest to others.
The standard shock has four settings that adjust rebound only (as you can see):
The Ohlins shock has 22 click adjustments for bump and about 60 clicks for rebound.
This is the dyno run for bump adjustment from full soft to full hard:
This is the ohlins rebound dyno.....adjusted rebound 10 clicks at a time so that you can see the change!

So what does it mean
Am I right to assume that it shows that the ohlins has a greater range of adjustment and can react to a more subtle amount of force and therefore can be more finely tuned?
I probably should know/learn this as I have two of them (ohlins shocks that is)

Yes, the ohlins has a much greater range of adjustment but more importantly, the valving in rebound will have a far greater effect on handling in the slower shock absorber speed range.bishboy wrote:So what does it mean![]()
