Zoning guru's advice wanted

My workshop is located in an industrial area and just up the road a new ws is almost finished , the twist is that the workers constructing said ws/shed are family / friends or something and all are living in the shed at the moment ie man/womwn /kids /dogs etc etc...
So what's the point???
On Sat night my offsider and I finished a cam upgrade in one of the toys , and finally got it fired up etc.....
Ok so it's a V8 running straight out the extractors and a touch loud BUT.. At 10.00, at night on a Saterday in an industrial area should my apparently illegally housed neigbours have the right to call the cops to get us to shut the noise down???
As far as I was aware noise restrictions do not apply to zoned industrial areas ... anyone shed any light on zoning / zoning occupancy in industrial areas??

Not sure about Noise restrictions, but i'd just call the council and make an anonymous complaint about them residing in the W/S.

It will depend on how far you are from a residenital area, even though you are in an industrial estate, if there is any overly loud outside of reasonable works hours you may still be subjected to noise regs if you are close by to homes, but as for the illegals up the road report them to council as they shouldn't be living there let alone reporting you for noise complaints.

dunno about where your w/shop is
but in Vic noise limits do apply to industrial areas
we run (in one of our locations) a metal stamping and forge shop
NOISE? loud as in VERY loud like 140+dB
we are restricted in the times we can open the doors (to receive supplies etc)
because we upset the neighbours

yes too much noise

Cheers for responses guys;
Spoke to council CEO (as it happens we service their fleet vehicles particularly his on the Monday)
Apparently noise restrictions do apply after 10 pm on Sat /all day Sun measured from the "most sensitive residence" restriction being 45Db
In the case of these clowns , the CEO confirmed that they were illegally residing on the premices and prompty gave them their marching orders (upon picking up his freshly cleaned/detailed/serviced vehicle

)
Problem eliminated
{How many red blooded Aussies DON'T like the sound of a high compression big cammed V8 anyway?? bloody fairies

Point being "industrial area' .....
eg; You don't buy a house near an airport coz it's dirt cheap then complain to the airport about the noise now do you!?
If there WAS someone living next door I would have been a bit more concious of their proximity and prob left the start up till the following day etc..
The clowns in question were approx 300m up the road and NOT supposed to be living there anyway..
on a Sat night I say HTFU!!!! (unless you have small kids of course

)
