Motoradd in germany did this when the first ram air ZXR's hit the road. It's got merit!!

Would you call that supercharging...I remember years ago Phil Ward in an escort used a little air fan on the air intake of his escort so he could be put into a larger capacity class and therefore use wider tyres...

These days, they'd use an inverter hard wired to the electrickery. Back then of course, they just used an extension cord!

Seeing as though the first ones just blew air on top of the engine anyway, I guess it's just making sure it stays spick and span
