NSW Mobile Camera location thread.

As per this thread New South Wales has rejoined the fortunate ranks of states plagued by mobile speed cameras. The RTA has had the foresight to at least acknowledge that they want us to slow down in black spots, which are the primary target (for now) for coverage by mobile cameras (despite going about it in a overall dirty manner) and have obtusely listed it on their website.

Please note a few things,
1) These locations are approximately sorted by geography, apologies in advance for any overlap/oversight.
2) These locations are only using the crash data from 2009, locations may (most likely) change once crash statistics for 2010 and beyond are obtained), there is always the possibliity that these sites won't be the only ones covered and they may decide to add new ones or potentially service other "unofficial" sites outside of the listing given below.
3) The sites are listed primarily weighted on the number of fatalities that occurred in the last year for that road, a secondary sort is the number of crashes seen on that road. This is by no way guaranteed to be accurate, but is a best guess i have based on the figures obtained.
4) obviously the last one is "if you get caught, it is on your own head", this information is provided like this as a community service in the interest of "safety" and your hip pocket, what you do (or don't) with the information is your own choice.

Also be careful of the painted lines at half km spacing as these are used by the flying fuzz to nab you as well. :(

Don't know if these are still operating and have not talked to anyone who has been booked this way... :kuda:

According to talkback radio today, you are right. Absolutely not worth the time i used to put that fuckin thing together, Apparently they either list main roads where it could be anywhere along it throughout an entire suburb, they put them in locations that aren't listed, or my favourite of putting them on a road that has an accident history, but 3km away on the long straight bit so your either screwed or cause a nose-to tail accident by reefing on the brakes.

Black, blue, charcoal, so basically any colour the territory is available in.

I'm thinking it might be a good idea to just start taking photos of them and hope for the best, as apparently it looks like NSW is seriously competing for the crown of c*ntiest state to live in.

I wonder how long it will be before one of these vehicles gets torched.

Oh i nearly forgot, apparently these cars have parking exceptions so they can legally park ANYWHERE, blind corner on the crest of a hill anyone?

Not exactly - they said they would put "all sites" on the RTA website.
