zx6 cuts out

OK, riding home from work today, changing down the 1st as I near the lights, and the bike just cut out. Restarted fine.
Couple of mins later at another set of lights, exactly the same thing.
Chris said his has done it to a couple of times..
Any ideas?

Side stand switch? Tip over sensor? Kill Switch? Loose connection?
Was the bike hot? In the traffic?
hmm what else cuts the fuel/spark?

I was really hoping that someone else with a 09/10 zx6 could tell me if it had happened to them?
I'm at a loss as to why the same thing would happen to Chris's 10, and my 09..?
Surely they couldn't both have the same random fault??

My zx10 has done it a few times too since i fitted the PCV.. Mine usually only occurs when the engine is still coldish, when i clutch it after ive put it under load(like up a steep hill or driveway) Their has been a decent amount of guys on the US zx10 forum complaining about the same thing even with stock bikes though

To rehash a old thread (shame on me first time I've ridden the bike since I posted this thread)
I took it in for it's first service today and mentioned it to the workshop bloke and he said it would be because the engine's so tight and the fuel is going off because it hasn't been ridden.. does that make sense? It behaved today, but Chris's did it the other day.

I think it was only the second tank it had ever had in it (still that fuel now)

Fuel goes off in a couple of months Tanya. Similarly the tracky goes out every few months and has never cut out! What fuel are you using? I have a BP card so Ultimate only for me... Maybe its their way of complaining they arent being ridden enough?

Have you checked the fuel cap breather? It could be blocked. Have heard this happening before when both the husband and myself were in the trade. Try running the bike (in idle at home) with the cap open, and see if it happens. At least that won't cost any money.
