Hey a freind who works for the government sent me these.
She had shown a college the "motorcyclists beware this isnt eastern creek, take it easy" street sign that Ty posted (http://www.ksrc-au.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3332)

This guy is currently responding to a 'SA Motorcycle Safety Strategy' draft

here are some of the statistics from that

5-year trend 1999-2004 where 175 riders were either killed or seriously
injured per year in SA. of these:

90% were male
23% of fatalities & 11% of serious injuries showed a blood alcohol level of
.05 or above when tested
52% of serious casualties occurred in the Adelaide Metro area
31% occurred on roads sign-posted 100 km/h or more
4% were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash
37% of serious casualties occurred on Sat or Sun
23% were as a result of 'hit fixed object' type crash
4% held a learners permit
5% held a provisional licence
12% were unliscenced (never held one, liscensed had lapsed or disqualified)
5% of fatalities were pillion
& the presence of a pillion passenger approx doubled the risk of fatality

the last one is a bit of a worry hey?
although a great reason to go out solo on the weekends ;)
