Probably belongs in Goose of the week but that's Smitty's gig :)

A man has been seriously injured whilst riding an unregistered trail bike in Horsham this morning.

Investigators have been told the man was riding with no lights south along Cameron Road North when he collided with a road sign at the intersection of Priors Road about 12.20am.

The Horsham man and his 19-year-old pillion passenger were thrown from the bike.

He suffered two broken arms and spinal injuries whilst his female passenger suffered minor injuries.

It is believed the Horsham woman was not wearing a helmet.

The pair was conveyed to the Wimmera Base hospital.

The man is expected to be transferred to The Alfred hospital later today.

Police will investigate if speed was a cause in the collision.

"Police will investigate if speed was a cause in the collision."

Being seemingly "compelled" to make this statement about every incident makes them look
all kind's of stupid I reckon
A better standard statement would be "Police say stupidity is OBVIOUSLY the cause of the collision" ;)
BORING!!!!!!!!!

:x :x Now who said that was a police statement? :x :x

You know what happens most of the time. The media asks police "was speed a factor?" to which the police would reply with, "we'll have to investigate further."

All of the sudden the media starts yelling "Police will investigate if speed was a cause in the collision". Ofcourse the police are going to investigate if speed was a factor, the police are going to investigate everything to see it was a factor FFS :x :x :x :x :x :x Don't all start sooking about police focusing on speed related issues in any particular incedent just because the MEDIA have mentioned it.

There's more to this arguement of mine i'm sure, but right now I can't be bothered thinking of any other arguement or examples to assist in me putting my point across. :-|
